LISA MICHELLE ROBINSON

 “Educator/Administrator”

Education is her passion.  In 1994, she received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Elementary Education and began her teaching career at Gretna Elementary School.  Early throughout my career, she received numerous accolades including Teacher of the Year (1995, 1996 & 2000), District Lead Teacher, District Highest FCAT Writes! (seven times) and District Leadership Award.  As a teacher, she received recognition for her students earning the highest writing scores in the state of Florida and the remarkable gains they achieved within one school year.  Her unique writing process and strategies have served as a model for many schools throughout Gadsden County and neighboring districts.

She returned to Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in 2000 and earned a Master Degree in Supervision and Administration with certification in all school level principalship.  After graduation, she accepted administrative positions as an Assistant Principal of Discipline at George W. Monroe and Assistant Principal of Curriculum at Stewart Street Elementary for three years.  After three years, she was promoted to School Principal at Gretna Elementary School and later promoted to Stewart Street Elementary School where she still serves as the School Principal.

Under her leadership,  schools have received numerous awards, the highest recognition being the Most Improved School in the State of Florida on standardized tests (FCAT Reading and Math), the 25th top best elementary school in the state and Exceeding Expectations Award Schools by the East Coast Technical Assistance Center.   Her staff were recognized by the Superintendent of School with the “Making the Grade of “A” Award” and Top 25th School Ranking Award.  For the 2013-2014 school year, her staffe nominated and earned the prestigious Leonore Annenberg School Fund for Children Award.

Ms. Robinson believes that the school is the hub of the community.  She, along with the staff, teach the students the importance of being benevolent by having the school sponsor charitable events help the community.  The school has received numerous awards from different organizations such as Relay for Life, Big Bend Hospice, March of Dimes and American Cancer Society.

She has a commitment to high expectations, innovation and collaboration. She is an active part of each child’s educational process.  Her primary goal is to help every child realize his/her fullest academic potential.
